The OSP Challenge

Learning at the Oxford Scholars Programme goes far beyond the classroom. In our Pre-College Artificial Intelligence Summer Program 2026, you’ll put theory into practice by collaborating with your peers to solve real-world problems. It’s a hands-on experience that pushes you to think creatively, work strategically, and apply everything you’ve learned throughout the course.

AI Model Development Challenge

AI Model Development Challenge

Design and build your own AI model using Python and real datasets. Learn how to train, test, and refine it to solve real-world problems – from image recognition to data prediction – and see how theory turns into practical innovation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Artificial Intelligence experience at OSP is a core academic and leadership strand within the programme, designed to introduce students aged 14–18 to how AI is shaping the world. Rather than focusing only on technology, this pre-college artificial intelligence program explores how AI can be used responsibly to address global challenges – combining ethics, critical thinking, and real-world application.

This Pre-College Artificial Intelligence Summer Camp is designed for high-school students aged 14–18 from all academic backgrounds. No prior knowledge of artificial intelligence or coding is required. Whether a student is interested in science, medicine, law, business, or public policy, the experience helps them understand how AI connects with their future academic and career interests.

No. This AI learning experience is beginner-friendly and accessible to students with varying levels of technical exposure.
The artificial intelligence summer school focuses on understanding concepts, asking the right questions, and applying AI tools thoughtfully – rather than advanced programming.

Participation in this pre-college artificial intelligence program demonstrates intellectual curiosity, future-focused thinking, and the ability to engage with complex global issues. In addition to strengthening personal statements and interview discussions, the Oxford Scholars Programme offers the opportunity to earn UCAS points through its accredited academic pathway, providing a recognised academic credential for UK university applications. Together, the academic recognition, project work, leadership development, and international collaboration give students meaningful experiences they can confidently reference across UCAS, Common App, and other global university applications.

Unlike many AI-focused programmes that concentrate solely on technical skills, this experience integrates artificial intelligence with leadership development, ethical decision-making, global awareness, and communication. Students are encouraged to think not only about what AI can do, but also about how and why it should be used, preparing them for university-level thinking and responsible innovation.

Students travelling from the United States do not require a visa to attend the Oxford Scholars Programme for its duration. Most US passport holders can enter the UK as a visitor and will instead need to complete a simple Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) prior to travel.

Yes. Students from over 30 countries participate in this international artificial intelligence summer school, creating a genuinely global learning environment. Working alongside peers from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds allows students to explore how artificial intelligence affects societies differently across the world.

To apply, visit our official application page and complete the online form. You’ll be asked to submit academic transcripts and a short personal statement. Once applications are reviewed, successful candidates will receive further instructions and next steps. Early applications are encouraged due to limited spaces.

The total cost of the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Summer School includes tuition, accommodation, meals, and all excursions and activities. Scholarships and financial aid options are available to support students from diverse financial backgrounds. Please check our fee page for detailed pricing information and funding options.
